LEARNING UNIT 1

Demonstrating an understanding of the theories, concepts and practice of human resources management. After completion of this learning unit learner should able to:

• Explain the theories and concepts of human resources management.
• Reflecting the relationship between theory and practice of human resources in the public sector context.
• Evaluating past human resources strategies and practices to determine efficacy, areas of weakness and constraints.
• Drawing practical conclusions and made recommendations for appropriate human resources action plans based on change management strategies and development programmes.

LEARNING UNIT 2

Implementing and maintaining performance management processes. After completion of this learning unit learner should able to:

Achieving or exceeding set goals for Skills Development, Employment Equity and Affirmative Action. After completion of this learning unit learner should able to:

• Identified public sector organisational‘s skills, equity requirement and mechanisms to meet or exceed in terms of legal requirements
• Monitor achievement goals progresses on an ongoing basis
• Generate and communicate progress reports to staff and present to the relevant government departments in terms of legal requirements
• Implementing corrective action to address area that are not meeting requirements of original strategy in line with overall public sector protocol and acceptance progress reports
