The Economic Reporting Framework and Standard Chart of Accounts for Practitioners

Course Overview
The purpose of this course is to build capacity of public service practitioners who directly deal with financial transaction within departments. The course is aligned to the basic principles of the Standard Chart of Accounts (SCOA) and Economic Reporting Format (ERF) as stated in the Reference Guide to Economic Reporting Format. The course is aligned to the basic values and principles governing public administration as contained in the Constitution of The Republic of South Africa (No.108 of 1996), in that it promotes a high standard of professional ethics, the efficient, economic and effective use of resources and accountability.

This course intended to provide learners with the knowledge and skills in:
¨ Economic Reporting Format (ERF) and Standard Chart of Accounts (SCOA)
¨ The Economic Classification: Understanding Key Definitions
¨ Distinguishing between Current and Capital Payments
¨ Design and Structure of the Standard Chart of Accounts

Training format

This course comprises four modules each covering a set of key concepts and skills.
